Insurance Transcription .............................................................................................................................
Insurance
Transcription is the transcription work connected with the
activities of the insurance industry. It includes the transcription
of recorded statements, notes on investigations and probes,
reports with captions, telephone transcripts, summary reports,
fire/theft/property damage reports, insurance reports for
property, liability, casualty, holdings, assets etc. The global
insurance industry is worth more than a whopping $3.3 trillion.
As an allied activity, the insurance transcription industry
measures up to $18 billion. This shows the widespread need
of transcriptioning in the insurance industry.
Insurance Transcription is not a new transcriptioning paradigm
like podcast transcription or media transcription. The nature
of this industry necessitates the conversion of the spoken
word in to text. Consider the scenario of the occurrence of
an insured loss, say a non-medical one. Your very next step
would be to claim for the insurance. The insurance adjuster
would come and probe the verity of your claim. He will negotiate
on behalf of the insurance company over the final amount to
be paid without violating the claimant’s federal rights.
Later, if the adjuster settles for an amount which the claimant
is not satisfied with, the claimant can approach the courts
to intervene and prevail upon the insurance company to give
a fair amount of money.
If the adjuster suspects a fraud, then he can refer the matter
to an investigator. This investigator would first verify whether
the claimant has a clean record. If the claim is medical in
nature, then the investigator will also undertake the job
of surveillance wherein he will secretly monitor and videotape
the claimant’s movements to detect any activity that
his purported injury disallows him to do.
At every step, we see a role for the Insurance Transcription
companies. All meetings between the claimant and the adjuster
may need to be videotaped for future reference by both the
parties. These videotapes will better serve their utility
if they are transcribed. The court proceeding recordings pertaining
to unsettled claims between parties gives way to an entirely
different area of transcriptioning called legal transcription.
If the matter comes to the stage of investigations then the
surveillance videotapes also have to be transcribed.
We are a general transcription company who understand the
insurance industry inside out.
Our company has been providing insurance transcription services
for both the insurance companies as well as claimants. Our
experience in this sector has not only created a tidy reputation
for ourselves in the industry circles but has also given us
a deep insight into the transcription requirements of the
insurance industry, something that very few transcription
companies can boast of. The department that handles insurance
transcription is equipped with the expertise, infrastructure
and drive to deliver on all your expectations from a top notch
transcription company. Irrespective of the type of transcription
project, we have a set of 4 parameters on which we judge ourselves.
These are:
(1)Accuracy:
Insurance Transcription cannot tolerate inaccuracy. A deal
involving thousands of dollars has to go right each time it
is represented on paper. This is also one criterion where
our clients have rated us highly. The mechanism of recruiting
the best of transcriptionists, putting them under rigorous
training regimes involving repetitive drills and checking
and cross checking of transcripts over several levels of staff,
virtually eliminates all transcription errors. The company
also trains the transcriptionists in the nitty-gritty of insurance
to equip them with the requisite know how.
(2)Cost:
Around the world, outsourcing has come to be recognized as
the new buzzword for cost cutting. Every company worth its
salt wants to take the maximum benefit out of this new mode
of operation. When we decided to outsource our operations,
there was pressure against it. But we were committed to delivering
our services at prices as low as possible. Hence we went ahead
with the decision to outsource. The cost benefits that we
derive from the low operating cost of the offshore center
is completely passed on to our clients. Today, the effect
has been such that some of our clients are paying just one
fifth of they used to pay to their former transcription service
provider.
(3)Speed:
The insurance industry values time more than anything else.
The time pressures act on both the insurance company as well
as the claimant. Hence, we are very particular on the speedy
generation and delivery of our transcripts. We have formulated
2 categories for the clients-Standard TAT and Rush TAT. Standard
TAT is for common clients who will receive the transcripts
within 24 to 48 hours from the time of the submission of recordings.
Rush TAT is for clients who are in urgent need of the transcripts.
They have to pay a nominally higher fee to get their transcripts
delivered within 12 to 24 hours from the time of submission
of the recordings. For both the categories, the time limit
is never transgressed. The client can be dead sure that his
transcript will reach him before the promised deadline.
(4)Confidentiality:
Data security is perhaps the most important prerequisite for
an insurance transcription company. The clients provide the
company with their most private details for transcriptioning.
This data, if leaked out, will have potentially disastrous
consequences for the clients. As far as our services are concerned,
we can assure the clients that our transcription mechanism
is impregnable from all kinds of data security breaches. We
have implemented the toughest security measures which are
derivatives of the guidelines of HL7 EHR Security and Privacy
Issues and JCAHO. If there is any company that provides data
security in the true sense of the term then it is ours. Ask
our clients who have stuck with us since many years, knowing
fully well that their data is absolutely safe in our hands.
